This is a photo of home-made flame-throwers lighting the effigy during Burn in the Forest, the BC regional Burning Man event recently held in the Squamish valley. I had an excellent time there, and here are the rest of my photographs.
Lux Delux was recently updated with a fullscreen mode, new options, and new maps. We created a new video trailer showing off the current features of Lux Delux:
2011 was my 6th year attending the Northern Voice personal media conference. I took the opportunity this time to play around more with my DSLR camera. I got to talking with photographer John Biehler about shooting using a fisheye lens, and he was kind enough to lend me his for the second day of the conference.
Fisheye is such a different perspective, it took me some time to get a feel for what it works well on. Here are a few of my favorite fisheye shots from the day (click to enlarge):

As is Sillytech tradition, it's time to place your best guess on the outcome of Canada's election on Monday, May 2. There are 308 seats. The person who has the smallest seat differential for each party "wins":
I've been staying up late nights this week captivated by the computer game Aquaria. It's a thoroughly enjoyable underwater adventure game, with an immersive world of different environments, delightful art, fitting musics, and a fun storyline. It reminded me of classic Zelda games in many respects, with its own unique aspects.
Highly recommended, it's available to download for Mac and PC (and maybe Linux).
