Cinema du Parc has closed =(
I just read in Adrienne's blog that Cinema du Parc has closed. Even though I don't live in Montreal anymore, this makes me sad. I always had a membership there, and saw a ton of cool movies as a result. The Hour has a write-up about it, which basically blames the AMC Forum Theatre for the Parc's demise. I'm sure that was a big factor, but I think the Parc could have survived if they handled themselves better. They were located right beside a giant group of rich McGill kids. That should have been one of their core markets, but I rarely saw much Parc advertising at McGill or around the ghetto (except for their schedules, which does count somewhat I guess).Anyway, this post is just me shedding an online tear for the good ole Cinema du Parc. :'-(
