Climbing the Lux rankings
Since I got back from Europe I've been slowly but surely getting back into Lux network play. At the moment I'm on a 3 game win streak, and my ranking has climbed to 2nd overall. That's pretty good, but the more accurate long-term tally of skill has me seeded at 59th. The seedings are calculated based on the best 12 out of the last 16 weeks. I went 2 and a half months without playing, so that destroyed me. I'm steadily climbing back up though.I also added some more funky graphics to the individual user rankings pages. Now you get up to 5 white stars for playing 100-500+ games and up to five gold stars for winning 100-500+ games. At the moment only one player has over 500 wins (and he is a Lux maniac - having 1441 wins and 2477 games!!!).
While these graphics aren't a huge selling point, they give a good hook to encourage users to play more and more. Like capturing the addictiveness of crack in a shareware game =). That includes myself of course. Right now I only have 3 white and 1 gold...
